Amur State Medical Academy

About University 

Amur State Medical Academy is one of the oldest higher medical educational institutions in the Far East. Amur State Medical Academy was established on June 26, 1952, by order of the Council of Ministers, as Blagoveshchensk State Medical Institute. At that time Blagoveshchensk State Medical Institute enrolled 200 students in studying MBBS. In 1996 Blagoveshchensk State Medical Institute was converted into Amur State Medical Academy and got admitted to the list of Medical Schools in Europe, which allows the University to unify the training of doctors with European standards.

 In 2013, Amur State Medical Academy received the Level IV accreditation certificate from the State Accreditation Department. Today, in Amur State Medical Academy the training in the Undergraduate level of education is conducted in 28 study departments and in the Postgraduate level of education in 6 study departments. The academic staff consists of 42 Medical Doctors, 27 professors, 58 associate professors, 142 Ph.D., and 22 distinguished doctors of the Russian Federation working at Amur State Medical Academy. 

Amur State Medical Academy is a member of an academic innovative consortium in the space area. The leading role in university medical research activity belongs to the research institute established in 1995 and named the Research and Education Center (REC). Innovative activity at the academy is represented by the innovation-technology center of AmSU. It is responsible for the development and production of electronic management systems, circuit plates, and medical training equipment.

The Academy also provides its students with the opportunity to get a double degree. Apart from studying the main chosen academic field students have the possibility to gain extra qualifications that take two years each. Since 2014 graduates of the academy are given the European Degree Supplement, which is necessary when applying to foreign universities or finding a job abroad.

Recognition

A vast amount of renowned bodies have accreditated Amur State Medical Academy as a quality institution of medical higher education. Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU), Euroasian Universities Association (EAU), N.E.W.S. (joint non-government organization of medical universities and medical colleges from Europe and East Asia), and Association of the Universities of the Russian Far East and Siberia and North-Eastern Regions of China affiliated Academy as the place where students can get a quality education in medicine and education in healthcare, and get an internationally recognized double degree of European sample. 

WHO (World Health Organization), MCI (Medical Council of India), NMC (National Medical Commission), and Russian Federation’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education give Academy its recognition and state it as a main medical higher educational institution in the Far East. University cooperates with many foreign universities, university clinics, scientific centers, and educational centers in Germany, China, Norway, the USA, Great Britain, and other countries. Faculty members and students of ASMA participate in exchange programs, medical conferences, and workshops, and perform research together with our international partners.

Accommodation

Amur State Medical University provides its international students with well-furnished hostel facilities. The hostel includes all the basic student accommodations required on daily basis. The university offers one of the best hostel dormitories compared to other medical colleges in the world. The Amur State Medical University Hostel Facility is available for students with all useful facilities. The hostel rooms are well implemented with all the necessary equipment and facilities like TV, Wi-Fi, AC and many more. The infrastructure is improved. There is a separate hostel for boys and girls with comfortable and cozy rooms and attached kitchens.

Students have permanent access to all rooms in the dormitory such as lecture halls with multimedia complexes, sports centers, health-improving centers, modern kitchens, laundry rooms, and dining rooms

About City 

Blagoveshchensk, a city located about 7,850 kilometers east of Moscow, is the capital of Amur Oblast and the fifth-largest city in the Russian Far East. The city stands on the left bank of the Amur River, on the border of Russia with China, directly opposite the Chinese city of Heihe. About 800 meters of the Amur River separate Russian Blagoveshchensk and Chinese Heihe. The capital of Amur Oblast is the only administrative center of Russia located on the very border of the country. There is a visa-free regime between Blagoveshchensk and Heihe.

 It’s a city of modern pop culture and Russian history; a place where you’ll come across new-age museums, art centers, manmade parks, and an efficient transportation system. It is a city of longstanding culture with a vast amount of theaters that is an international symbol for excellence in classical dance, such as  Russia’s National Ballet Company remains renowned worldwide.
