About University
Izhevsk State Medical Academy is a higher medical educational institution in the city of Izhevsk. Izhevsk State Medical Academy holds a good position among the medical schools of the Russian Federation in terms of organization and methodical support of the educational process during the study of MBBS. Izhevsk State Medical Academy was organized in 1933 as the Izhevsk State Medical Institute.
Izhevsk State Medical Institute was formed due to an urgent need for medical personnel in the rapidly developing region of Izhevsk. In the first academic year, Izhevsk State Medical Institute enrolled in studying process over 200 qualified students. In 1934 Izhevsk State Medical Academy opened the department of Histology, department of Obstetrics and department of Gynecology, department of Biochemistry, department of General Hygiene, and department of Normal Physiology. In 1935 Izhevsk State Medical Academy organized departments of Internal Medicine, Operative Surgery courses and Topographic Anatomy courses, General Surgery courses, Pathological Physiology courses, Social Sciences courses, Microbiology courses, Pathological Anatomy courses, Pharmacology courses, and Physical Education courses.
Izhevsk State Medical Academy has a teaching staff of 331 highly qualified medical teachers in 52 medical study departments. All study rooms are supplied with audiovisual equipment and computers with modern software. Izhevsk State Medical Academy operates a university library of educational and methodical and scientific literature that best meets the needs of its readers. Till now Izhevsk State Medical Academy has trained around 12,000 students that became prominent specialists in the field of Medicine and Healthcare Science. Currently, Izhevsk State Medical Academy provides a studying process for over 2,200 young students.
Recognition
Prestigious medical bodies like NMC, and WHO accredited the medical university as a higher educational establishment. The high score in FMGE passing percentage brings them great success in the medical field. University has recognition from the Ministry of Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Due to it students have an opportunity to get a degree recognized in their country and abroad and take part in internships abroad.
Academy is globally affiliated, accredited, and recognized by the WHO and the Medical Councils of leading countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Australia, India, and Canada. The Russian government funds all research projects of the Academy and organizes the implementation of their results in life. As a result, the fee is subsidized by the Russian Ministry of Health and Education, making medical education accessible to all.

Accommodation
University offers its students renovated apartments with all the needed facilities. The student dormitory has a perfect location: grocery stores, cafés, and restaurants with Russian and international cuisines are within walking distance. All city attractions, museums, theaters, and historic places are either within walking distance or 5-10 minutes by public transport from the student dormitory.
The student dormitory is a corridor-type residential building with shared facilities. One room usually accommodates three or four roommates. Entrances to the building are equipped with video surveillance and security posts. The dormitory provides permanent access to self-service laundry, shared kitchens with modern equipment (on each floor), and shared bathrooms.
Every student room is supplied with beds with linens, writing desks, wardrobes or closets, a permanent internet connection, and cable TV. All rooms are comfortable for living and studying in.
About City
Izhevsk is a large industrial center, commercial center, scientific center, educational center, and cultural center of the Volga and Ural regions, the capital of the Udmurt Republic. This city located about 1,300 km east of Moscow is known for its defense and engineering industries and is unofficially called the “arms capital” of Russia.
Izhevsk was founded in 1760 as a center of ironworking and later of armaments, and the city remains a major producer of steel, armaments, machine tools, building machinery, and motorcycles. There is also a large automobile plant. Izhevsk’s other industries include large-scale sawmilling and the processing of varied foodstuffs. Izhevsk is the cultural and educational center of Udmurtiya, with a scientific institute of the Udmurt language, literature, and history, as well as teacher-training institutes, medical institutes, mechanical institutes, and agricultural institutes.
Izhevsk is the scientific and cultural center of the Udmurt Republic. Early on, the state took a leading role in childcare and medical education. A wide variety of technical colleges and two-year professional schools award associate degrees, most notably in medical assistance, performing arts, and teaching.
