General Information
The Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University, also known informally as NovSU, was founded in 1993 by merging the two oldest higher education institutions of Veliky Novgorod: the Pedagogical and Polytechnic Institutes. Later, Novgorod Agricultural Academy was included into the structure of the University. At present it comprises seven Institutes and four Colleges of secondary vocational education.
University is a unique institution of higher learning in Russia. University provides undergraduate MBBS, graduate MBBS, and postgraduate higher degrees in biochemistry, biophysics, general medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, pharmacy, and nursery fields. University supplies its students with all needed books, technical equipment, and facilities to become qualified doctors or medical scientists.
The University is a member of the Bologna process. It provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develops advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction. Students and teaching staff at University are involved in a variety of research activities and grant programs in Russian universities and universities abroad.

Accommodation and Housing
University provides high-quality accommodation for students pursuing MBBS and other degrees. The hostel is very close to the college campus. The students are provided with fully furnished rooms on a sharing basis. There are around 7 student hostels on the PSMU campus. The hostels have kitchens, laundry rooms, rooms for study and training sessions, recreation rooms, a gym, etc. The complete hostel complex is equipped with internet access.
The hostel rooms are designed such that 2-3 students can share one room. The rooms are equipped with air-conditioning and a centralized heating system. The location of the hostels is very near to the center of the city. The local markets and other amenities are easily accessible to the students.
