Omsk State Medical Academy
General Information
It was founded as the Medical Faculty of the Siberian Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Zoology in 1920, and reorganized as the West Siberian State Medical Institute in 1921.
It was renamed the Omsk State Medical Institute in 1925, and the Omsk State Medical Academy in 1994.
Omsk State Medical Academy has cooperation agreements with educational institutions in Western Europe, the United States, Japan, and other countries. The institution consists of 59 medical study departments. All members of the academic staff have a higher qualification in Pedagogy and Medical Science, and over 300 MD-PhD associate professors are employed by the academy.
The duration of the MBBS course at Omsk State Medical University is 6 years, out of which 1 year is a clinical internship. The medium of instruction is English for studying MBBS at this university. Every student can pretend to take part in the international exchange program and try to study abroad in the leading medical education institution in Asia, Canada, or Japan.
In Orenburg State Medical Academy, there are 22 specialized sports clubs including five fitness centers, two big gyms, and the Olympic sports complex with a pool.

Accommodation and Housing
Omsk State Medical Academy provides hostel and accommodation facilities. There are 3 dormitories at Omsk State Medical Academy which can accommodate around 1400 students. Every room is equipped with washrooms with shower units. Rooms are fully equipped and with all the basic furniture and equipment like bed, mattress, chair, table, desk, and more.
The hostel as well as the campus is safe and secure with CCTV cameras. University has well-equipped gyms and a sports center along with an indoor and outdoor sports complex. The hostel floors are separate for boys and girls. Indian food is also available in the mess of the hostel.
