Dostoevsky Omsk State University
General Information
Dostoevsky Omsk State University was founded in 1974 in the city of Omsk, Russia. University is one of the best universities in Russia to study technical sciences, study law, study humanities, study IT, study medicine, and study foreign languages.
The two original departments (Humanities and Science) and 40 professors have grown to 13 departments and a 1000-member faculty. The university has graduated more than 25,000 local and international students. OmSU embraces its connections to the world and develops international relations with the universities of Europe, the United States, Mexico, Japan, China, Kazakhstan, and other countries.
Such cooperation led to the establishment of the Centers for Chinese, Kazakh, and Ibero-American Studies which in its turn flows into the development of study and research abroad programs that provide the opportunity to conduct independent projects in a foreign country. Due to numerous cooperation agreements with foreign universities and international organizations, students and members of academic staff can take part in exchange programs and internships abroad to get new theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
University accepts local and international students. The medium of instruction of Russian and English. Students can apply for Bachelor’s courses, Masters’s courses, and Ph.D. degree programs. The university is an officially registered university with the Ministry of Higher Education in Russia.

Accommodation and Housing
University provides high-quality accommodation for international students. The hostel is very close to the college campus. The students are provided with fully furnished rooms on sharing basis. There are around 7 student hostels on the University campus. The hostels have kitchens, laundry rooms, rooms for study and training sessions, recreation rooms, a gym, etc. The complete hostel complex is equipped with internet access.
There are normally one to four people living in each room. Two- to three-person rooms are usually allocated to bachelor’s students (four-person accommodation is infrequent), and two-person rooms are shared between master’s students, and postgraduates are offered single occupancy rooms at some universities. International students can be accommodated with their Russian peers or at dormitories specially reserved for foreigners.
