Siberian State University of Telecommunications and Informatics
General Information
Siberian State University of Telecommunications and Informatics was established in 1953. It is the basic educational center of the Federal Agency of Telecommunications covering Siberia and the Far East. It is a great research center aimed at studying telecommunications in Russia and developing telecommunications technologies in Russia.
University is a unique school of higher learning in Russia. It has one of the best parks of special simulation equipment as well as hardware and software programs behind the Urals at its disposal. The level of computerization in the educational process is very high. The University takes pride in providing student accommodation for its students, each of them having personal Internet access.
The University is a member of the Bologna process. It provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develops advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction. Students and teaching staff at University are involved in a variety of research activities and grant programs in Russian universities and universities abroad.

Accommodation and Housing
The central campus of the University is located in the very center of the city. The students’ dormitory is only a 5 minute walk away from the campus. Each room in the apartment is equipped with: A bed, bedding, desk and chair, and curtains are also provided. The bathroom is shared between double and triple roommates.
There is bed linen at the dorm, a small towel, and some kitchen stuff. Bathrooms and showers are also for common use. Wi-Fi is available in the lobby of the residence hall. Every hostel resident has free access to the University canteen and all common kitchens on every floor. The students will get access to available 24/7 Wi-Fi facilities in the hostel.
