Facilities and Resources of the Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Information technologies include modern Computer Laboratories, 4 lecture halls, 2 auditoriums, 9 Scientific Laboratories, and renovated classrooms. Computer labs are equipped with personal computers of various modifications, which are connected to a local area network. Every student has permanent access to the global Internet. All the PCs have licensed software. There is at least one computer with Internet access for 2 students.
Training programs in Russia offered by the University are designed for a wide range of participants: from ordinary students to specialists. The Center of Languages and Cultures work is based on the belief that qualitative linguistic education and pedagogical education can and must be available to a wide range of people. This Center combines traditional activities and new tendencies in studying processes such as group lessons and individual education.
The University’s activity aimed at the development of the system of search and support of gifted students includes not only preparatory courses and creative laboratories, but also Leo Tolstoy TSPU Lyceum, which has been functioning for more than 15 years, and the system of university classes.

In 2009, Tula SPU became a laureate of the contest “Gold Medal “European Quality” in the category “Top-100 Universities in Russia” and won in the category “The Best Russian Specialized University”. In 2012, the University was included in the National Register of the Leading Scientific Organizations of Russia.

Accommodation
Tula State University (TSU) has the largest network of student hostels among medical universities in Russia. Students can live and study in 4 renovated and modernized student dorm buildings. Both local and international students can avail of the hostel facility. Sharing accommodation with basic furniture, washroom, and appliances are offered to every student.
They live in big and well-furnished rooms and are provided with bedding, pillows, blankets, beds, wardrobes, and chairs. Every student also has access to free Wi-Fi which makes studying and resting more comfortable.
Student hostels are located close to the main academic buildings and are surrounded by parks, food stores in Russia, and shopping malls. All dormitory residents can spend their free time in a park, go shopping, and should be confident that they can arrive home on time. Students may find a broad variety of food products in food stores and supermarkets situated near every dorm building. It gives foreign citizens an excellent opportunity to stick to the same food that they were accustomed to.
About City
Tula is one of the oldest cities in Russia. It was first mentioned as a fortress of the Principality of Ryazan in 1146. Today, Tula is one of the major Russian industrial and commercial centers. The leading industries are ferrous metallurgy, machine building, and metalworking. Nowadays, the city has become a center of Russian culture and arts. It is full of talented young people that are part of the Russian Scientific and Cultural Community. The climate in Russia is temperate continental, characterized by warm summers and moderately cold winters. The average temperature in February is minus 7.3 degrees Celsius, and in July – plus 19.4 degrees Celsius.
Tula is famous for its traditional Russian cuisine and cookies made with honey and gingerbread – pryaniki. In the West, Tula is perhaps best known as the center of samovar production. The most popular tourist attraction in Tula Oblast is Yasnaya Polyana, the home and burial place of the writer Leo Tolstoy. It is situated 14 kilometers (9 miles) southwest of the city. It is where Tolstoy wrote his celebrated novels War and Peace and Anna Karenina.
