About University 

Tver State Medical Academy is a State Educational Institution of higher professional education in Tver (formerly known as Kalinin) city of the Russian Federation. Tver State Medical Academy was established in 1920 in Petrograd city as an Institute of Public Dentistry. In 1927 Institute of Public Dentistry was transformed into the Leningrad Dental Institute, and in 1954 Leningrad Dental Institute was transferred to the city of Kalinin. In 1994 Leningrad Dental Institute received the status of a medical academy and became Tver State Medical Academy. 

Today, Tver State Medical Academy has six medical facultiesMedical faculty, Dental faculty, Pediatric faculty, Pharmaceutical faculty, and Higher Nursing education, as well as postgraduate education, medical training and retraining of medical specialists, and the preparatory department for foreign citizens. All medical courses are taught in English medium of instruction to make the studying process for international students easy and understandable.

At present Tver State Medical Academy provides a studying process for more than 5,600 students from 31 countries who are being trained in 42 medical study departments. Students can study medical sciences, and healthcare sciences, and prevent diseases with the permanent assistance of 560 highly skilled teachers. Since 1920 Tver State Medical Academy has trained more than 31,000 doctors and specialists.

Tver State Medical Academy is always among the top ten medical educational institutions according to the annual official rating of the 48 Russian Medical Educational Institutions. Today, it is the largest medical scientific, research, and educational center noted for its extensive clinical residence and laboratory base, and brilliant teaching staff. The Academy possesses a complex of buildings designed for practical classes in medicine, medical lectures, laboratory studies, medical research work, and auxiliary services.

Tver State Medical Academy is a WHO-recognized medical educational establishment that has erudite exposure in the field of medical education, postgraduate training, scientific research, diagnostics, treatment, and disease prevention in Russia.

The major fields that embark on international cooperation include cardiology courses, genetics courses, gastroenterology courses, ophthalmology courses, radiology courses, surgery courses, and public health courses. Accommodation 

Tver State Medical University has 4 major student hostels dedicated to more than 2,000 international students. It is completely equipped with centrally heated air-conditioners, toilets, common kitchens, and wi-fi facilities. It’s a fulfilling experience for any international student to have student accommodation at such an affordable fee, which suffices the daily requirements of a student.

All rooms are fully equipped with all modern technologies such as cable TV, modern computers, central heating, and permanent access to Wi-Fi. Rooms are shared between 2-3 people and fully equipped with modern furniture, common kitchens, and bathrooms. The cafeteria serves different national cuisines including Indian. Hygiene is of utmost importance at the university, and that is strictly followed in and around campus and hostels.

About City 

Tver is a city in Russia located on the banks of the Volga River about 180 km northwest of Moscow, the administrative center of Tver Oblast. It is a large industrial center, scientific center, and cultural center, a major transport hub at the intersection of the St. Petersburg – Moscow railway line. The climate in Tver is moderately continental, with cold and rather long winters and warm, humid summers. 

Eight hundred years old, Tver city holds a crucial religious, cultural, and academic foundation. It is situated in the northwestern portion of Russia, between the two capitals Moscow and St.Petersburgh. Lake Seliger is the most picturesque area in Iver. Apart from mesmerizing lakes, the Putevoy Palace is a famous tourist attraction spot, serving as a reservoir of historical inputs, embellished with exquisite Russian architecture.

The most beautiful sightseeing is the light and music fountain, located in front of the Opera and Ballet Theater. The city is full of attractions for young people and international students such as modern museums, Indian restaurants, Asian restaurants, Russian restaurants, food stores, art galleries, cinemas, and recreation areas.
