Volga State University of Water Transport (VGUWT) is a Russian educational institution funded by the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transportation. It is the largest educational institution in the Volga-Vyatka region. University is an educational institution for higher education aimed at combining traditional academic teaching with fundamental knowledge and practical orientation.

At the beginning of 2010, more than 18,000 students and cadets were enrolled. Since its formation, VGUVT (formerly – VGAWT, GIIVT) has prepared more than 46,000 specialists in their areas. We encourage students to apply early, as the number of rooms is limited. Some students may not be comfortable with dorm rules, as they are often considered strict.

The hostels have kitchens, laundry rooms, study rooms and training sessions, recreation rooms, a gym, etc. The complete hostel complex is equipped with internet access and is guarded by professional security; and CCTV and fire alarm system. There are many apartments in Kursk available for rent at an affordable price, and many VGUWT students choose to stay in these private apartments.

Sochi State University is a higher educational institution in the city of Sochi, Krasnodar Krai in southwest Russia. Located in several buildings in the central district of the city. In April 2017, it became one of the regional core universities. It is a member of the International Association of Tourism Education and Training in Europe, and a member of the UNESCO network and knowledge network of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

As of 2018, the university has 5 study faculties (tourism and service, economics and management processes, environmental engineering, socio-pedagogical, and legal), University of Economics and Technology College. There are 22 study departments, including 2 basic study departments, 19 educational and scientific laboratories, a legal clinic, educational and training centers for students studying hotel and restaurant business – “Solar Wind” and “Atoll”, the Russian Language Center, etc.

Accommodation

The Ural State University of Economics provides its students with a Student Dormitory. The hostel consists of eight rooms per floor, with 2-3 people per room. Each floor also has one common kitchen and two toilets, and the basement has a shower. Students cannot select their rooms. All rooms are fully furnished and equipped with all needed for studying and resting comfortable facilities including TV, free Wi-Fi, and comfortable and modern furniture with bedding. 

Every student has access to a common kitchen, modern and renovated laundry room, medical aid cabinet, gym with sports equipment, and reading room with a huge amount of information resources. About City 

Ekaterinburg acts as the divide between Russia and Kazakhstan and has been dubbed the ‘window on Asia’ due to its proximity to the border. The city is commonly called Russia’s ‘third capital’ as it is ranked third for tourist activities, transport infrastructure, and economic size. It holds a special place in Russia for being the site of some history-changing events. A walking tour of the city is a great way to see the beautiful old architecture and the main attractions of historical importance such as the Church on the Blood, the site of the execution of the last Tsar. 

Ekaterinburg also hosts several unusual sights such as the QWERTY Monument, a giant stone keyboard, the so-called ‘Mafia Cemetery’ where former Mafia members are commemorated with life-size images carved into stone, and during the winter an entire city block is made of ice. A visit to the Chinese Market with little outdoor stalls that sell almost everything is also a worthwhile experience. During the cold period, there are many opportunities to go cross-country skiing and some downhill skiing as well. Day trips into the surrounding area, for example, the Deer Stream National Park, is also an option and can be made by public transport.

Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) is a leading Russian university in STEM education and research that was established in 1946. It is ranked among the best 100 universities for Natural Sciences both by Quacquarelli Symonds and Times Higher Education. 

Institute gives its students and alumni a great number of career opportunities in Asian and European countries in the future. The strong alumni community is spread globally and includes distinguished scientists, businessmen, politicians, people of art, astronauts, and Nobel laureates. 

 There are 92 Research Laboratories at MIPT, and more than 50 of them have been opened over the past five years. The university has summoned top researchers from all over the world to head it. The curriculum allows MIPT students to gain not only profound knowledge but practical skills as well. The educational process includes entrepreneurship projects and the MIPT business accelerator Phystech. 

After four years of study and the defense of a Bachelor’s qualification work (effectively a smaller and less involved version of the Master’s thesis), students are awarded a Bachelor’s degree. The full course of education at MIPT takes six years to complete, just like an American bachelor’s degree followed by a master’s degree. The MIPT study curriculum is more extensive compared to an average American college according to the school.  There is an opinion at the school that a MIPT specialist/Master’s degree may be roughly equivalent to an American Ph.D. in Physics.

Most study courses include a combination of theoretical lectures and practical seminars (problem-solving study sessions in smaller groups) or laboratory experiments. Lecture attendance is optional, while seminar and lab attendance affect grades. The base organization idea is somewhat similar to an internship abroad in that students participate in “real work.” All base organizations also have a study curriculum for students to follow and besides their work, the students are required to take those practical classes and pass exams. In other words, a base organization is an extension of MIPT, specializing in each particular student’s area of interest.

Amur State University of Humanities and Pedagogy is the first institution of higher education in the Komsomolsk-on-Amur City. It was founded in 1954 as a pedagogical institute that was intended to train teachers for the developing system of education in the Russian Far East. In 1998 it became a university, and in 2006 got its present name, which reflects it’s broadening the sphere of educational services as well as entering the world’s educational environment.

Armavir State Pedagogical University (ASPU) is a pedagogical, scientific, methodological, and cultural center of the Krasnodar region. ASPU implements the training of teachers for general and preschool education in the basic educational programs of higher education in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate specialties. ASPU is the only independent pedagogical institute in the Krasnodar region, leading its history as a university, since 1923.

Blagoveschensk State Pedagogical University (BSPU) is located in Blagoveschensk, the administrative center of the Amur Oblast. BSPU was founded in 1930 and is one of the oldest educational institutions in the Far East of Russia. For more than 80 years, first, the Pedagogical Institute and then the Blagoveshchensk State Pedagogical University have successfully trained highly qualified specialists. 

University provides studying processes for local and international students from other countries. Due to numerous cooperation agreements with foreign universities and organizations, members of academic staff and students can participate in exchange programs and internships abroad to get new theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

It is one of the leading public educational institutions and scientific complexes in the European North of Russia. 

Today, the Chechen State Pedagogical Institute is the leading school in the sphere of higher vocational training in Chechnya. Special attention is given to personnel maintenance of the educational process and improvements of the material base. The Chechen State Pedagogical Institute offers two modes of study: on-campus and correspondence. There are currently more than 3,000 students enrolled on campus and 1,200 of them are trained by correspondence.

Due to numerous cooperation agreements with foreign universities and organizations, members of academic staff and students can participate in exchange programs and internships abroad to get new theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

University provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develop advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction. Students and teaching staff at University are involved in a variety of research activities and grant programs in Russian universities and universities abroad.

Accommodation and Housing 

At entering nonresident students are provided with a student hostel for all periods of training. There are warm and cozy rooms for two-three people. There are two kitchens with electric stove devices and bathrooms with showers and washing machines on each floor. Students have an opportunity to be provided with the Internet in each room and to install the stationary phone. Thus, the computer hall with an Internet connection is equipped in the hostel.

There is also a recreation room with an audio and TV system in the hostel. There is an assembly hall where choreographic classes are carried out and fitness studios function. The gym is also equipped. There are guest rooms for parents in the hostel. Besides, the rooms for nonresident students, part-time students, and entrants who take their session and entrance tests are also provided by the hostel.
