Russian State University of Cinematography named after S.A.Gerasimov is a Federal State Educational Institution of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Russian Federation. All-Russian State University of Cinematography formerly also known as Goskinoshkola. Russian State University of Cinematography  was founded in 1919 in Moscow which was the world's first public film school. In 1931, the Film Institute organized a film library, which grew later in the Russian State Film Fund is now particularly valuable object of cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation. In 1937, the film library organization was awarded by the "Grand Prix" in International Exhibition in Paris. In 1934, the institute opened the country's first research sector, bringing together the major theorists, historians and practitioners - Lebedeva, V.Vishnevskogo, S.Ginzburg, G.Avenariusa, L.Kuleshova, Eisenstein, V.Pudovkina , Dovzhenko, V.Turkina and many others, whose efforts created domestic film studies, wrote influential works on the history and theory of screen art. Since foundation  All-Russian State University of Cinematography was and has been the bearer of cultural traditions, spiritual and moral values and creative spirit of our people. In 2007 the institute received status of the university. Russian State University of Cinematography is not only expanding the range of their own specialization, but as a basic institution in the field of creative personnel training film and television and has actively promoted the establishment of vocational education on a national scale.
