Adygey State University is a higher education institution in the city of Maikop which is also the capital of the Republic of Adygea in the Russian Federation. Adygeya State University was established in 1940 in the city of Maikop as a Teachers' Institute, which became the Adygeya Pedagogical Institute in 1952 and in 1993 Adygey Pedagogical Institute became Adygey State University. In the autumn of 2015 the University will celebrate its 75th anniversary. Currently ASU is a leading educational and research center of the Republic of Adygey. The Adygeya State University is training of higher and secondary vocational education is conducted in 42 specialties. The Adygeya State University has approximately 14 thousand. The teaching staff of Adygey State University has approximately 650 people, of whom 100 professors and 400 candidates of sciences.
