General Information
Mechnikov North-Western State Medical University was established in November 2011 in St. Petersburg, Russia. University has become the successor of a long history, rich experience, and age-old traditions of two medical institutes of St. Petersburg at once.
The uniqueness of the University lies in the continuous program of the educational process, which includes pre-university training, higher education, and then advanced training or retraining of medical specialists. The University is developing in 3 directions: high-quality education, innovative scientific activities, and effective medical care.
University offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses taught in English medium instruction including bachelor’s degrees, master’s programs, clinical residency programs, Ph.D. programs, and CME courses in healthcare science, medical science, or preventing diseases.
The University has implemented over 45 international scientific and technological projects in cooperation with the leading scientific and educational healthcare institutions of Eastern and Western Europe, China, Japan, and the USA. Having 138 patents for inventions and utility models, the university has leading positions among medical universities.

Accommodation and Housing
The Mechnikov North-Western State Medical University provides a Student Hostel for all international students. The hostel comprises units with 8-9 rooms. All hostel rooms are well-furnished and up-to-date with the latest facilities. Facilities in hostels include water, electricity, furniture, bed & bedclothes, washing, and cooking facilities. There are common laundry rooms and kitchen rooms in each unit.
The campus hostel campus is safe and secure for students for both boys and girls. The entire campus is strongly fenced. Students are guided to maintain decorum and discipline. Electronic entry and exit systems prevail. The whole hostel units remain under the surveillance of CCTV cameras and special security guards. Visitors are only allowed after identification.
