General Information
Astrakhan State Technical University (ASTU) is a technical university located in Astrakhan, Russia. It was established in 1930 following the Order of the People’s Commissariat of Foreign and Domestic Trade of the USSR.
The mission of Astrakhan State Technical University is to create and promote technical knowledge for personal and social development by integrating technical research and technical education. After graduating all students become successful alumni and scientists who exert a considerable impact on the world community. Astrakhan State Technical University is one of Russia’s most rapidly modernizing technical universities.
University accepts local and international students. The medium of instruction of Russian and English. Students can apply for Bachelor’s courses, Master’s courses, and Ph.D. degree programs. The university is an officially registered university with the Ministry of Higher Education in Russia. Due to numerous cooperation agreements with foreign universities and international organizations, students and members of academic staff can take part in exchange programs and internships abroad to get new theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

Accommodation and Housing
The University has 5 student hostels, 4 canteens, and 7 buffets. During the period of studies at the University each student is provided with a room in a student’s hostel which is equipped with good furniture, appropriate maintenance service, kitchens, shower rooms, and other places of common for some extra charge. In the hostels, the passing by regime functions, and the appropriate protection is ensured.
A place in a comfortable hostel room with a TV set, a telephone, and a refrigerator is provided. Reception, laundry, cleaning and washing personnel, reading room, and computer hall are always available for every hostel resident. Every hostel resident can use every common room in the building, including the library, gym, canteen, and resting rooms. All rooms are well-furnished and ready to use at any time and day. Entrances to the building are equipped with video surveillance and security posts. Every room fully has modern furniture and technical equipment, such as central heating and air conditioning systems, permanent Wi-Fi, and cable TV.
