About University

Chechen State University in Russia is one of the oldest higher educational institutions in the city of Grozny. Chechen State University in Russia was established in 1938 as a Teacher Training Institute by Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic to give students the ability to get a higher degree in Russia. On September 1, 1938 Teachers Training Institute was transformed into the Chechen-Ingush State Pedagogical Institute in Russia with a four-year training period.

In 1971 the educational institution in Russia was transformed into the Chechen-Ingush State University. In 1980 the University already had 8 study faculties to study economics and study management in Russia. In 1990 Chechen-Ingush State University opened its Medical Faculty in Russia and started providing a high-quality educational process for future medical specialists and giving them the ability to study medicine and study dentistry in Russia. On 28 February 1995, the Chechen-Ingush State University was renamed Chechen State University in Russia

In 1997 Chechen State University opened the Agro-technological faculty to study agriculture in Russia. In November 1997 the Urus-Martan Correspondence Department of the Chechen State University was opened. On May 6, 2003, University was declared under the name of State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education in Russia “Chechen State University”. 

Today Chechen State University has 72 departments and 13 faculties to study law, study IT, and study mathematics in Russia. Chechen State University has over 814 quality teachers, including 55 doctors, professors, and 236 Candidates in Sciences. Today Chechen State University has trained almost 20,000 students in humanities and technical sciences. Chechen State University has a botanical garden in Russia, a zoological museum, a Russian historical museum, a library with 5 service departments, subscriptions, reading rooms in the university, and a catering plant.

Accommodation 

Chechen State University in Russia provides its international students with renovated and modern student accommodation. All international students are free to use university-managed student accommodation in Russia. It is supplied with modern technical equipment such as TV, computers, and audiovisual equipment.  The student hostel building is situated within 3 km from the university’s main building and it takes nearly 15 minutes to go there on foot. It is a 5-story building, wherein each story has a few laundry rooms, studying rooms, libraries, hostel canteen, and reading rooms.

2 types of rooms can accommodate 170 international students in total. Double rooms include features such as a separate WC, bathroom, kitchen, and balcony. Suite-style rooms are divided into several categories:

  • double and triple rooms share such amenities as WC, shower, and kitchen with another room.
  • the 5-person suite is comprised of one double room and one triple room that are connected by a shared private hallway, WC, kitchen, shower, and balcony.

About City

Grozny is the biggest city and capital of the Republic of Chechnya, Russia. It lies along the Sunzha River at the foot of the Sunzha Range of the Caucasus. The main language in Grozny is Chechen, you can hear it in every shop and state body. However, you can use English and be confident that you will be understood by city residents. Russians and other nations are respected here, but since most Chechens live here, people increasingly prefer their native language. There are a lot of shopping malls in Grozny, modern Russian restaurants, cafes, museums of Russian history

Now, Grozny is a developed city in Russia with many new modern buildings, business centers, and new beautiful office buildings. In Grozny, the streets are actively restored, which gives the city a special comfort, which is not found in every city in the North Caucasus. In Grozny, over the past decade, many new schools and universities have opened. Education in the city is reaching a new level, which attracts to the city young people from all the republics of the North Caucasus.
