N.G. Zhiganov Kazan State Conservatory
General Information
N.G. Zhiganov Kazan State Conservatory is the main musical institution in Kazan. Kazan State Conservatory was opened in 1945 and was declared the best musical institution of higher education in the country.
For many years the N.G. Zhiganov Kazan State Conservatory worked on the collection and study of Tatar folk music. In 1990 N.G. Zhiganov Kazan State Conservatory won the right to music publications. In 1997, N.G. Zhiganov Kazan State Conservatory opened its first Opera Studio. In recent years graduates of the Conservatory repeatedly become winners of reputable music competitions held in Russia and abroad. Today the N.G. Zhiganov Kazan State Conservatory is one of the leading musical institutions of the Russian Federation.
The educational process of the academy combines traditions of classic engineering education and innovations connected with the current requirements to the specialist.
The University is actively involved in the processes of technological and personnel modernization of transport and road-building industries of the Russian Federation. The active scientific schools of the University participate in the implementation of a wide range of federal, regional, and municipal programs of sectoral orientation.
University provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develop advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction. Students and teaching staff at University are involved in a variety of research activities and grant programs in Russian universities and universities abroad.

Accommodation and Housing
University has hostel accommodations for all its students. The student dormitory enables students to access a lot of facilities automatically. The hostel has a convenient location and it takes 7 min walk to the main studying building and is well connected to all the basic provisions like metro, bus stops, shopping malls, and other convenience stores.
The hostel also has a laundry, cafeteria, reading room with free Wi-Fi, assembly hall, separated bathrooms and toilets, common kitchens, and washrooms. Students have access to different types of room configurations and generally, international students are offered rooms according to their choice and convenience. The hostel also has round-the-clock security provisions for the safety of every student staying in the hostel.
