Kursk State Technical University

General Information 

South-West State University was founded in 1964 as Kursk Polytechnic Institute. In 1995, the university was renamed Kursk State Technical University. In 2010 it was renamed South-West State University. University is the best place to study in Russia for international students, and local students, and get a recognized abroad Russian higher degree.

The university is the city’s biggest educational institution, with around 11,000 local and international students. University’s main aim is to increase the level of education among young persons in Russia and abroad, making higher education in Russia affordable and quality, and giving their students opportunities for employment with the most popular international organizations and Russian state bodies. Students have the option of receiving quality education within the 100 main areas of engineering,  technical science, social  sciences, and humanity science

The Russian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students’ past academic records and grades. University also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a university library, students dormitory, sports facilities, internships abroad, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services

All students can take part in international exchange programs and internships abroad. University provides full-time studying and part-time studying in undergraduate courses in Russia, postgraduate courses in Russia, and doctoral studies in Russia.

Accommodation and Housing 

Kursk State Technical University. provides high-quality accommodation for international students. The hostel is very close to the college campus. The students are provided with fully furnished rooms on a sharing basis. There are around 7 student hostels on the University campus. The hostels have kitchens, laundry rooms, rooms for study and training sessions, recreation rooms, a gym, etc. The complete hostel complex is equipped with internet access.

There are normally one to four people living in each room. Two- to three-person rooms are usually allocated to bachelor’s students (four-person accommodation is infrequent), and two-person rooms are shared between master’s students, and postgraduates are offered single occupancy rooms at some universities. International students can be accommodated with their Russian peers or at dormitories specially reserved for foreigners.
