Medical Faculty of Ogarev Mordovia State University
National Research Ogarev Mordovia State University was established in 1931 as a quality agronomical and pedagogical institute and was accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in 1957. Studying MBBS at Ogarev Mordovia State University gives students the opportunity to become quality doctors and take part in internships abroad or exchange programs abroad.
Methods of learning and teaching at the University focus on direct contact with students through lectures, workshops, and practical classes. During the MBBS course study, students are expected to complete practical and theoretical tasks and assignments at the end of each semester.
The Institute provides students with options for continuing medical education (clinical internship in Russia, clinical residency abroad, postgraduate MBBS courses, training, and retraining of doctors). Clinical internship is conducted in 22 medical specialties, clinical residency in Russia is conducted in 18 study specialties, and education programs in Continuing Professional Education are held in 24 specialties. The total enrollment is more than 2,000 students, 500 of them are clinical interns, medical residents, graduate students, and students of the training and retraining centers.
Every year in post-graduate MBBS courses are trained about 200 international students in cardiology courses, gynecology courses, otolaryngology courses, ophthalmology courses, functional diagnostics courses, surgery courses, neurology courses, internal medical courses, traumatology courses, and orthopedics courses.
Scientific innovation infrastructure includes research laboratories of medical study departments and MBBS courses, the central research laboratory, a vivarium, an anatomical museum in Russia, a museum of Medical History, and 14 research centers. The staff of the institute and students participate in the development and implementation of federal, regional, sectoral programs, and international programs.

Accommodation and Housing
Ogarev Mordovia State University welcomes local and international students and provides them with comfortable living conditions at 13 student hostels (halls of residence). Eleven of them are located on university campuses, and two are on remote campuses in Ruzaevka and Kovylkono. Hostels currently accommodate more than 4,500 international students.
Two other student hostels were opened in 2010 to accommodate more than 1,000 international students. They offer comfortable rooms, each having a cable TV, a fridge, and a shower cabin. Equipped with an external video surveillance system and a card reading system on entry doors, it makes them the safest place for living. Among the facilities are computer classes with Internet access, laundry rooms, performance halls, and fitness rooms.
