General Information

The Institute for the Humanities and Information Technologies is a Moscow-based higher education institution established on April 30, 1992. The Institute has been carrying out innovative educational techniques based on creativity for 28 years already. It appreciates initiative attitude, love towards a future profession, and readiness to work in a team. IGUMO has been the right holder of the ‘Responsible Education’ trademark since 2009. International internships, student exchanges, scientific conferences, and summer schools are integral parts of Institute for the Humanities and Information Technologies educational policy. 

The Institute actively develops international contacts and joint creative projects with international universities and cultural institutions in Germany, the Czech Republic, France, and Lithuania. Institute for the Humanities and Information Technologies students carry out several large-scale practice-oriented projects. By taking part in project activities, the students learn to address relevant professional tasks, work in teams, and interact with representatives of related occupations. The participants of projects help one another, generate new ideas, and develop their leadership qualities. Professionals from different areas highly evaluate the results of our students’ project activities. That is why participation in practice-oriented projects help students fill their portfolios with real cases and provide them with a successful start to their professional career. 

The modern organization of higher education requires intensive international collaboration, the integration into the global educational and research space. The development of international contacts and international educational and scientific projects is among the key priorities of the Institute for the Humanities and Information Technologies. Collaboration of Institute with its international partners is carried out in different directions using different organizational forms including student and lecturer exchanges, participation in international conferences, workshops, and roundtables, and fulfillment of joint integrated education programs. At the moment, Institute has 7 agreements on different types and forms of collaboration with international partners.

Accommodation and Housing 

The university has two comfortable hostels. Places to stay are provided to all students in need. Students can choose for themselves the conditions for living: rooms on social floors or rooms with an improved layout. The hostel fee depends on your choice of living conditions. The dormitories have restrooms, sports rooms, a first-aid post, an internet room, and a Wi-Fi zone. Many student events are held here – from birthdays to joint meetings of the New Year, sports competitions, a rope course for rallying, and much more.
