Moscow State Mining University

General Information

Moscow State Mining University is a Russian institute of higher education that prepares mining engineers.  University is the best place to study in Russia for international students, and local students, and get a recognized abroad Russian higher degree. Now MSMU prepares mining engineers of the highest level. 

MSMU consists of 5 study faculties and 39 study departments. 22 scientific degrees are on offer. The University has excellent experienced teaching staff. Today 840 prominent teachers work full-time at the University. The Russian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students’ past academic records and grades. University also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a university library, students dormitory, sports facilities, internships abroad, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services. 

All students can take part in international exchange programs and internships abroad. University provides full-time studying and part-time studying in undergraduate courses in Russia, postgraduate courses in Russia, and doctoral studies in Russia.

Six faculties of the University are currently training over 5,000 undergraduate students and about 300 postgraduates. The faculties of the University are:

Accommodation and Housing 

The MSMU has 5 student hostels, 4 canteens, and 7 buffets. During the period of studies at the University each student is provided with a room in a student’s hostel which is equipped with good furniture, appropriate maintenance service, kitchens, shower rooms, and other places of common for some extra charge. In the hostels, the passing by regime functions, and the appropriate protection is ensured.

A place in a comfortable hostel room with a TV set, a telephone, and a refrigerator is provided. Reception, laundry, cleaning and washing personnel, reading room, and computer hall are always available for every hostel resident. Every hostel resident can use every common room in the building, including the library, gym, canteen, and resting rooms. All rooms are well-furnished and ready to use at any time and day.  Entrances to the building are equipped with video surveillance and security posts. Every room fully has modern furniture and technical equipment, such as central heating and air conditioning systems, permanent Wi-Fi, and cable TV.
