General Information
National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute” (MPEI) is a public university based in Moscow, Russia. It offers training in the fields of Power Engineering, Electric Engineering, Radio Engineering, Electronics, Information Technologies, and Management.
At MPEI there are 12 Institutes, 65 departments, 176 scientific laboratories, a research construction bureau, and test factory, a unique educational TPP, an educational Solar Power Plant, the biggest scientific technical library countrywide, a stadium “Energia”, a palace of culture and a swimming pool.
University provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develop advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction. Students and teaching staff at University are involved in a variety of research activities and grant programs in Russian universities and universities abroad.
MPEI is an actual member of many international associations: UNESCO, UNIDO, IAEA, International Association for Continuous Engineering Education, International Coordination Council of Educational Institutions Alumni, CIGRE Russian National Committee, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Council on Superconductivity, World Wind Energy Association, European Association for International Education, Association of International Departments of Technical Universities of Central and Eastern Europe.

Accommodation and Housing
There are 4 student hostels, which can accommodate more than 2,000 international students. All the hostels are flat-type with attached bathrooms, toilets, and kitchens. The hostels are centrally heated. The hostels are fully furnished. The basic system is two/three students in one room—separate arrangements for boys and girls. There are two hostels specially renovated.
The system of residence is separate for boys and girls, 2 and 3-seated big rooms, upgraded comforts, central heating, full furniture with beddings, the room has a balcony with a picturesque view, shower room, toilet, washbasin room, cable TV with Indian News & Informative Channels, charged Internet in every room, security guards, reception, laundry, cleaning, and washing personnel, reading rooms, computer hall, Internet hall, recreation hall, 24-hour medical center, well-equipped gyms with hi-tech machines.
