Naval Academy of Medicine

General Information

The Naval Academy of Medicine was established in 1715 in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. Academy provided training for senior medical staff for the Armed Forces and conducted research in military medical services. 

After gaining fame and being one of the best colleges in Russia it came to be known as the Imperial Medical and Surgical academy. In the following years, many intellectuals worked for and in the academy and helped in bringing out their potential and making the education quality reach heights. It also emphasized women’s education in the sciences. It opened courses for nurse wives in 1872.

Since 1 September 2015, it has been working as a branch of the Institute for the Advancement of Doctors of the Ministry of Defense. Studying processes are provided in 63 departments (28 militaries, 35 civilians), of which 31 are clinical, 17 are surgical, and 14 are therapeutic.

Accommodation and Housing

The Naval Academy of Medicine has hostel accommodations for all its students. The student dormitory enables students to access a lot of facilities automatically. The hostel has a convenient location and it takes 7 min walk to the main studying building and is well connected to all the basic provisions like metro, bus stops, shopping malls, and other convenience stores.

The hostel also has a laundry, cafeteria, reading room with free Wi-Fi, assembly hall, separated bathrooms and toilets, common kitchens, and washrooms. Students have access to different types of room configurations and generally, international students are offered rooms according to their choice and convenience. The hostel also has round-the-clock security provisions for the safety of every student staying in the hostel.
