General Information
I. Lobachevsky National Research State University of Nizhny Novgorod, UNN, also known as Lobachevsky University, is a public research university in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, and one of the biggest classical universities in the country.
University provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develop advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction. Students and teaching staff at University are involved in a variety of research activities and grant programs in Russian universities and universities abroad.
The university was established in 1916 as Nizhny Novgorod People’s University. From 1932 to 1990 it had the name of Gorky State University. In 2009, it was granted the status of a National Research University. The university comprises 15 study faculties and educational institutes, 5 research institutes, and 4 regional branches.
Currently, the university has about 30,000 local and international students, over 1,000 postgraduate and doctoral students, 1,200 associate and assistant professors, and about 400 professors. Due to numerous cooperation agreements with foreign universities and organizations, members of academic staff and students can participate in exchange programs and internships abroad to get new theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Accommodation and Housing
Hostel and accommodation at University are well established and known for their comfort and safety. It has 2 student dormitories and gives a facility of rooms for 2-3 students. It has dining areas, common rooms, a reading room, a sports complex, proper bedding, and, all the necessities.
The rooms are furnished with all the necessities. There are wireless access points and channels through which there is a facility for a high-speed internet connection throughout the campus and all dormitories, which are covered with a 24-hour Wi-Fi service. Different cafes, fast-food areas, parks, and malls are close to the hostel area.
