Institute of Medicine at M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University

General Information

North-Eastern Federal University is the largest higher education institution in the Russian northeast and it is one of Russia’s ten federal universities. The Institute of Medicine at M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University (founded in 1957) may be called one of the oldest higher medicine institutes in the North-East of Russia.

University offers higher education in the field of medicine for over 6,000 students, while more than 500 students are engaged in postgraduate work. Students acquire the capacity to solve problems of medical science and implement the results of their scientific research in life. 

In the medical Institute, there are 28 Doctors of medical and biological sciences and 104 PhDs (excluding part-time workers). Among them, there are two members of the Academy of Sciences, Honored Scientists of Russia, Honored Workers of the Republic of Sakha, members of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Higher Education, and active members of various academies.

The university has been affiliated with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and has numerous cooperation agreements with foreign educational institutions and international organizations.

Students can study human diseases in a variety of ways, such as by analyzing data from clinical trials. They conduct research aimed at improving overall human health and often use clinical trials and other investigative methods to reach their findings.

Accommodation and Housing 

The Institute of Medicine at M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University has 15 dormitories that adhere to the rules of the Housing Code of the Russian Federation. Each dormitory building can accommodate over 1,000 students and a total accommodation facility for 15,000 students of North-Eastern Federal University. 

Advanced sanitary-epidemiological services and fire safety is applied in all the dormitories. During leisure, students can head to Sergelyakhsky Lights – the hostel’s Cultural Center.

Food is available for students in the dormitory, there is a choice of self-cooking and choice of eating in the restaurants around.
