General Information
Novosibirsk State Academy of Water Transport is a state budgetary educational institution of higher education, founded by the Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport in 1951. Novosibirsk State Academy of Water Transport is one of the leading water transport universities in Russia and the world. The university conducts pre-university training for international applicants in technical science, medical and biological science, economical science, and humanity science.
Today Novosibirsk State Academy of Water Transport enrolls more than 6,000 local and international students in full-time studying, evening faculty, and correspondence faculty. Novosibirsk State Academy of Water Transport is a unique education organization in the Siberian and Far Eastern federal districts for the continuous training of specialists with secondary vocational and higher education with highly qualified academic professors and teaching staff. At present Novosibirsk State Academy of Water Transport has 6 study faculties, 24 study departments, and a teaching staff of 250 qualified teachers. During its work period, the Novosibirsk State Academy of Water Transport has trained over 20,000 students. The University offers a wide range of training programs for higher education and secondary vocational education, postgraduate training programs, and programs of additional vocational training.
University provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develop advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction. Students and teaching staff at University are involved in a variety of research activities and grant programs in Russian universities and universities abroad.

Accommodation and Housing
The University is proud of its modern dormitory housing 1100 people. Every section has two cozy rooms, a kitchen, a shower, and a bathroom. The hostel for international students is located in the center of the city 30mtr from the University’s main building. The hostel has well-equipped rooms with all modern facilities for 3 seated big rooms upgraded comforts, and central heating.
Reception, laundry, cleaning and washing personnel, reading room, and computer hall are always available for every hostel resident. Every hostel resident can use every common room in the building, including the library, gym, canteen, and resting rooms. All rooms are well-furnished and ready to use at every time and day. Entrances to the building are equipped with video surveillance and security posts. Every room fully has modern furniture and technical equipment, such as central heating and air conditioning systems, permanent Wi-Fi, and cable TV.
