Penza State Agrarian University

General Information 

Penza State Agrarian University (PGAU) is a state university in the city of Penza, founded in 1951. University is a large scientific and educational center and is widely known in Russia and abroad. It works for the needs of the population and agricultural production in Western Siberia. 

More than 48 doctors of sciences, professors, and more than 134 candidates of sciences are engaged in vocational training of students and scientific research. Many of them are academicians and corresponding members of various academies and have honorary titles. Over 4,500 local and international students and more than 70 graduate students annually study at the university. Teams of students of all study faculties in the specialties participate in student scientific olympiads of various ranks and take prizes.

The University provides studying processes in 30 world-class scientific labs and 3 engineering centers with the most modern technical equipment and research facilities. Due to close ties with the most prominent foreign education institutions, the university successfully carries out joint projects with the largest Russian and foreign companies. All graduates have vast amounts of opportunities with employment in the most popular international organizations and Russian companies. The university offers 11 English-medium Master`s programs, two of which are internationally accredited to ASIIN (German accreditation association).

Accommodation and Housing 

The University has 5 student dormitories that accommodate more than 5,000 students. Dormitory rooms are comfortable, well furnished, centrally heated, and have all necessary living facilities.

The rooms are equipped with beds, desks, chairs, and wall shelves for each international student. Wardrobes and shoe racks located in the hallway are shared by the students living in the unit as well as a refrigerator. Every room has got permanent access to free Wi-Fi and cable TV. Blankets, pillows, and bed sheets are also provided to international students. The linen is changed once every 10 days. Kitchens are situated on every floor, where students can find cookers, several sinks, and tables, and cook their national dishes. Every dorm resident has permanent access to all hostel rooms such as living rooms, study rooms, common laundry rooms, and computer rooms
