Rostov State University of Civil Engineering

General Information 

The Rostov State University of Civil Engineering is a state educational institution of federal subordination. It was established in 1988 on the basis of the Faculty of Architecture of the Rostov Civil Engineering Institute. This institute introduced architecture in 1944 and trained engineers-architects. These specialists took part in the reconstruction of the cities and towns of South Russia after World War II. Within this period of time, about 5,000 architects were trained. 

Graduates have an opportunity to work in all parts of Russia and abroad – in European, Near Eastern, African and Asian countries. The Russian graduates are the heads of Architectural and Urban Development Committees of the cities and towns of Russia, the directors of research institutes, and the teachers of higher schools. Among them are the state and regional prize winners.

 Rostov State University of Civil Engineering international activities include exchange programs and joint research projects, international networking, international centers for European studies, internships abroad, innovative resource management, language and culture centers, youth and summer schools (Russian as a foreign language), and international sports and social activities

The main features of the educational process of the institute are substantial training in Computer-Aided Design, artistic training (the course of Fine Arts), and thorough professional training.

Accommodation and Housing 

 Rostov State University of Civil Engineering provides high-quality accommodation for international students. The hostel is very close to the college campus. The students are provided with fully furnished rooms on sharing basis. There are around 7 student hostels on the University campus. The hostels have kitchens, laundry rooms, rooms for study and training sessions, recreation rooms, a gym, etc. The complete hostel complex is equipped with internet access.

There are normally one to four people living in each room. Two- to three-person rooms are usually allocated to bachelor’s students (four-person accommodation is infrequent), and two-person rooms are shared between master’s students, and postgraduates are offered single occupancy rooms at some universities. International students can be accommodated with their Russian peers or at dormitories specially reserved for foreigners.
