Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography

General Information 

Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography is a Federal State Educational Institution of Higher and Postgraduate Education in the Russian Federation. The Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography formerly also known as Goskinoshkola.  Institute is the best place to study art in Russia and study acting performance in Russia. All local and international students have the opportunity to get quality Russian higher degrees.

Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography was founded in 1919 in Moscow and was the world’s first public film school. In 1931, Film Institute organized a film library, which grew later into the Russian State Film Fund and is now a particularly valuable object of the cultural heritage of the people of the Russian Federation. 

Since its foundation, the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography was and has been the bearer of cultural traditions, spiritual and moral values, and the creative spirit of our people. In 2007 the institute received the status of a university. Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography is not only expanding the range of its specialization but as a basic institution in the field of creative personnel training film and television and has actively promoted the establishment of vocational education on a national scale.

Institute provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develop advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction. Students and teaching staff at institute are involved in a variety of research activities and grant programs in Russian universities and universities abroad.

 Accommodation and Housing 

The hostel provide all needed facilities for students as modern furniture, changed bedding, TV, free Wi-Fi, reading rooms, studying rooms, a hostel library, a common kitchen, and separate bathrooms and toilets. Hostels are under 24/7 CCTV surveillance, so every student can feel safe and comfortable. Wi-Fi connectivity is accessible 24/7 to make studying and resting more useful.

All modern amenities are available including pillows, blankets, bedsheets, beds, tables, chairs, etc. One common kitchen in every block of rooms is available for students to cook food on their own. Regular electricity and water supply are available for students.
