General Information
Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University is Russian university, which prepares world-class marine engineers with expertise in the design, construction, and maintenance of ships, surface ships, and submarines. St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University was founded in 1930. University is the best place to study marine science and study ship construction in Russia.
Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University provides a high level of training for graduates with compliance with international standards confirmed by experts of the International Institute of Marine Engineers in London. Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University’s higher degrees are recognized in Europe and in the United States. At present Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University 5 study faculties, 38 study departments, and a staff of 620 skilled professionals.
Every year around 1,600 local and international students graduate from Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University with quality higher degrees. In 85 years Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University has trained more than 28,000 marine professionals. University provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develop advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction. Students and teaching staff at University are involved in a variety of research activities and grant programs in Russian universities and universities abroad.
The staff of the institute and students participate in the development and implementation of federal, regional, sectoral programs, and international programs. Due to numerous cooperation agreements with foreign universities and organizations, members of academic staff and students have the opportunity to take part in exchange programs and internships abroad to get new theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Accommodation and Housing
Student Dormitory has eight rooms per floor, with 2-3 people per room. Each floor also has one kitchen and two toilets, and the basement has a shower. All rooms have access to free Wi-fi and are equipped with essential modern amenities like a pillow, blanket, bedsheet, beds, tables, and chairs that are already added to the basic necessity list. For student recreation gyms, reading rooms and sports complex facilities are also available.
Every hostel resident can use every common room in the building, including the library, gym, canteen, and resting rooms. All rooms are well-furnished and ready to use at every time and day.
