General Information
Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPbGASU) is a Russian federal state-owned higher education institution based in Saint Petersburg. It is the oldest architecture university in the country.
Today, the University has been successfully upholding its glorious old traditions. SPbGASU is recognized as one of the best higher education establishments in the field of architecture and engineering in Russia that meets the education, training, and research needs of students and faculty, as well as the multi-level training needs of the larger community.
The University has a prominent academic staff consisting of more than 600 lecturers, many of whom are recognized for their research activity. It numbers 4 Corresponding Members and 7 Councilors of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences, 89 Doctors of Science, and 357 holders of Ph.D. degrees.
Presently there are approximately 8,400 international and local students, among them 282 foreign students from 54 different countries of the world, concentrating their studies in science and engineering, and 243 post-graduates (among them 21 foreigners), working on their Ph.D. and DSc theses at the University.

Accommodation and Housing
Heads of dormitories and the Student Board (student autonomous body) carry out character building in dormitories according to the complex plan, which includes the creation of necessary conditions for living, self-education, life and recreation, well-being, and allows to host mass cultural events and recreative sports, recreation evenings, literary soirees, dispute, mindset training, meetings with interesting people, etc.
The hostel provides all needed facilities for students such as modern furniture, changed bedding, TV, free Wi-Fi, reading rooms, studying rooms, a hostel library, a common kitchen, and separate bathrooms and toilets. Hostels are under 24/7 CCTV surveillance, so every student can feel safe and comfortable. Wi-Fi connectivity is accessible 24/7 to make studying and resting more useful.
