General Information
Saint Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation is a leading Aviation University in Saint Petersburg city of the Russian Federation. Saint Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation was established in 1955 as an Aviation School of Higher Education. In 1972 Aviation School of Higher Education was reorganized into the Saint Petersburg Academy of Civil Aviation.
In 2004 Saint Petersburg Academy of Civil Aviation received University status and became Saint Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation, one of the most prominent educational establishments in Russia. Today Saint Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation is a composition of five study branches, three study institutes, six study faculties, and 40 study departments. They aim to provide quality educational processes and permanent assistance in all issues concerning studying and research activity.
The staff of 820 skilled teachers trains more than 6,500 students including 1,500 international students from 26 different countries. Since 1955 has trained over 25,000 students in 30 study specialties. About 5 thousand graduates became heads of aviation enterprises, airline companies, and airports, and over a thousand heads of subdivisions and services of air traffic control. Thousands of graduates, government awards and badges, awarded more than 200 honorary titles of “Honored pilot”, “Meritorious pilot”, and “Honored worker of transport”, 29 graduates were awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of Socialist Labor, Hero of Russia.
University Museum of the history of aviation, a student club consisting of a team of KVN and creative collectives of Amateur performances, sports complexes, student hostels, the University hotel is located on the territory of the Pulkovo Airport area, near the large international airport of Saint Petersburg. The University is proud of its unique training center for future pilots and controllers, which can simulate the work crew, to provide their operation in extreme conditions, to test themselves “on the strength”.

Accommodation and Housing
University provides its students with a hostel which can accommodate more than 1,500 students. All the hostels are flat-type with attached bathrooms, toilets, and kitchens. The hostel is well-furnished and supplied with central heating, and air conditioning systems. Rooms are renovated and shared between 2-4 students. Boys and girls live in separate buildings. There are two hostels specially renovated and supplied for all international students.
The system of residence is separate for boys and girls, 2 and 3-seated big rooms, upgraded comforts, central heating, full furniture with beddings, the room has a balcony with a picturesque view, shower room, toilet, bathroom, cable TV with Indian News & Informative Channels, charged Internet in every room, security guards, reception, laundry, cleaning, and washing personnel, reading rooms, computer hall, Internet hall, recreation hall, 24-hour medical center, well-equipped gyms with hi-tech machines.
