General Information
Saint Petersburg State Institute of Film and Television is a public university located in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It was founded in 1918 to develop in Russia photographic and photo technical knowledge in the industry as well as to raise as quickly as possible the level of professional education in all fields of optical arts, photographic arts, photo technical arts, and printing arts and for special scientific research.
The Russian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students’ past academic records and grades. University also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a university library, students dormitory, sports facilities, internships abroad, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
All students can take part in international exchange programs and internships abroad. University provides full-time studying and part-time studying in undergraduate courses in Russia, postgraduate courses in Russia, and doctoral studies in Russia.

Accommodation and Housing
There is a large block of flats housing students, with fully furnished bedrooms organized around corridors or apartments with a shared kitchen. Free gas, electricity, hot and cold water, and phones are available for students. Rooms are centrally heated. As they’re typically located 10 minutes from the university campus, living there puts you at the center of student life.
Reception, laundry, cleaning and washing personnel, reading room, and computer hall are always available for every hostel resident. Every hostel resident can use every common room in the building, including the library, gym, canteen, and resting rooms. All rooms are well-furnished and ready to use at every time and day. Entrances to the building are equipped with video surveillance and security posts. Every room fully has modern furniture and technical equipment, such as central heating and air conditioning systems, permanent Wi-Fi, and cable TV.
