Saratov State Medical University named after V.I. Razumovsky
Saratov State Medical University named after V.I. Razumovsky is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in southern Russia. Emperor Nicholas II founded the Saratov State Medical University in 1909 as Saratov State University with only a Medical Faculty, later in 1930 divided into Saratov State University and Saratov Medical Institute. In 1993 Saratov Medical Institute transformed into Saratov State Medical University. In 2009 Saratov State Medical University was named after First Rector V.I. Razumovsky. The university gives students the opportunity to study MBBS.
During its existence, Saratov State Medical University has become one of the largest medical universities in Russia. Since its foundation, Saratov State Medical University has followed the classical system of medical education, including a strong theoretical basis in various fields. It aimed to prepare qualified specialists in the field of medicine, healthcare science, pharmacy science, and nursing science, who will be ready to conduct their professional duties appropriate way.
Every year more than 600 students come to Saratov State Medical University to study medical sciences, and the total number of students is more than 5,000. Currently, at Saratov State Medical University teaching is conducted in 75 medical study departments by over 800 skilled doctors, professors, and teachers. During over 100 years of existence, the Saratov State Medical University has trained about 50,000 professionals who study MBBS in Russia.

The management of SSMU assumes the obligations and responsibility for the creation of the necessary conditions for achieving the goals of the University, ensuring understanding, and implementation of this policy and its regular updating at all levels of education.
In 2005, the university was awarded the Certificate of Honor by the President of the Russian Federation for its contribution to the medical education of specialists and the development of medical science. In 2007 University received the RF Government Award for Education. University has numerous cooperation agreements with foreign educational institutions and medical international organizations. Due to it every student or member of the academic staff can participate in all exchange programs and internships abroad. A medical degree from Saratov State Medical University is one of the most recognized in Russia and abroad, which opens all graduates the opportunity to start their medical career in every country and the medical establishment they will choose.
University is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. University also was approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and National Medical Commission(NMC) as a place with recognized medical degrees and qualified teaching staff.

The Saratov State Medical University student campus offers comfortable facilities to every single worldwide enrolled student.
