Sochi State University

General Information 

Sochi State University is a higher educational institution in the city of Sochi, Krasnodar Krai in southwest Russia. Located in several buildings in the central district of the city. In April 2017, it became one of the regional core universities. It is a member of the International Association of Tourism Education and Training in Europe, and a member of the UNESCO network and knowledge network of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

As of 2018, the university has 5 study faculties (tourism and service, economics and management processes, environmental engineering, socio-pedagogical, and legal), University of Economics and Technology College. There are 22 study departments, including 2 basic study departments, 19 educational and scientific laboratories, a legal clinic, educational and training centers for students studying hotel and restaurant business – “Solar Wind” and “Atoll”, the Russian Language Center, etc. 

The total number of students is about 7,000 people in higher and secondary vocational education programs in all forms of training (taking into account the branch in Anapa), and 4,000 of them are studying in the bachelor’s programs. The University is a member of the Bologna process. It provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develops advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction.

Accommodation and Housing 

Students’ hostels have single rooms and double rooms which are fully equipped for life and the study process. Canteens offer a variety of dishes at reasonable prices. There are a food market and grocery stores nearby for those who prefer to cook themselves. Students’ cafes, bars, and city parks are popular places for entertainment and outdoor recreation.

Every hostel resident can use every common room in the building, including the library, gym, canteen, and resting rooms. All rooms are well-furnished and ready to use at every time and day. Accommodations are supplied with refrigerators, shared kitchens, reading rooms, studying rooms, a hostel library, and separate bathrooms and toilets. Hostels are under 24/7 CCTV surveillance, so every student can feel safe and comfortable.
