Russian State University for the Humanities

General information 

Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) was founded in 1991 on the basis of the Moscow State Institute for History and Archives (1930) and is one of the major educational establishments in the Russian Higher Education Reform in the Humanities. The university ranks among the TOP 200 Higher Education Institutions in Russia according to QS BRICS University Ranking: BRICS 2014.

International cooperation is an important part of the internationalization strategy at RSUH. It is aimed at strengthening the university’s competitive ability in Russia and abroad and its integration into the global education and research space. The internationalization strategy also aims to enhance the quality of education and research and increase Russian education export in the international education market.

RSUH has a strong international profile and cooperates with more than 230 universities worldwide (among them – Bologna University, Sorbonne University, Cambridge University, etc.), it is a member of numerous international associations – IAU (International Association of Universities), EUA (European University Association), GUNI (Global University Network for Innovation), EUNIS (European University Information Systems organization), etc. 

With more than 200 undergraduate programs and postgraduate programs, and 28 Ph.D. programs, RSUH serves more than 16,300 international and local students and employs more than 1000 qualified members of academic staff. RSUH offers 18 double-degree Master’s programs and 3 double Ph.D. programs with a number of the most reputed universities in the world.

Accommodation and Housing 

The dorm for foreign students from partner universities is fully renovated and equipped. Accommodation in the dorm is provided in the form of double rooms. On each floor, there is a split bathroom and a communal kitchen, and free wi-fi.

Each dorm block consists of a double room and a triple room. Each block has a split bathroom. Each floor has a communal kitchen. There are also blocks with quadruple rooms, with a bathroom on the floor. Every hostel resident can use every common room in the building, including the library, gym, canteen, and resting rooms. All rooms are well-furnished and ready to use at any time and day. Accommodations are supplied with refrigerators, shared kitchens, reading rooms, studying rooms, a hostel library, and separate bathrooms and toilets. Hostels are under 24/7 CCTV surveillance, so every student can feel safe and comfortable.
