Tula State University

General Information 

Tula State University is the largest state university in Tula, Central Russia. More than 20,000 local and international 20,000 students, 400 postgraduates, and 600 foreign students study at Tula State University. The university consists of nine faculties (colleges), a medical institute, a center of pre-university studies, a regional center for professional development, and 73 study departments (chairs).

TSU has more than 150 study programs in defense, technology, mining construction, computer science, economics, law, humanities, and medicine. There are more than 1,200 faculty members, among them 278 full doctors of sciences, professors, and 742 candidates of sciences, associate professors. The total number of qualified academic staff is 2,400. TSU provides full-time education and part-time education, distance education, and education by correspondence.

The university trains mathematicians, mechanics, physicists, chemists, psychologists, political scientists, historians, theologians, linguists, translators, lawyers, sociologists, physicians, specialists in physical culture and sports, designers and design engineers, economists, managers, architects, educationists.

University provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develop advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction. Students and teaching staff at University are involved in a variety of research activities and grant programs in Russian universities and universities abroad.

Accommodation and Housing 

While getting a higher education in Tula, all the students are provided with comfortable rooms for living in hostels for students. All the rooms are provided with Internet access, a TV set, and a telephone. There are bathrooms, lavatories, and kitchens for students in the hostels. The campus area is equipped with a gym, a large number of food shops, and entertainment centers.

Usually, students use accommodation facilities on a sharing basis. All students’ hostels are safe and secure as they are under the protection of the police. The hostel provide all needed facilities for students as modern furniture, changed bedding, TV, free Wi-Fi, reading rooms, studying rooms, a hostel library, a common kitchen, and separate bathrooms and toilets.
