General Information
Ural State University of Architecture and Art is situated in Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation, that was founded in 1947 as a department of architecture at the Ural State Technical University. Later, in 1967, it was reorganized and became a study branch of the Moscow Institute of Architecture which later became an independent school of architecture originally named Sverdlovsk Institute of Architecture.
It is one of the most prestigious schools of design and architecture in Russia. The Academy has twenty chairs, six study departments, and two study institutes. It is the best place to study architecture, to study engineering, and study IT in Russia.
Scientific research is traditionally undertaken in many areas of technical sciences. Students can study construction, study architecture, and engineering, study power engineering, study art, study production automation and control, study information technology, study natural science, study nano-technology, etc. There are 12 research laboratories and scientific centers, four of them being of the applied character.
University provides studying processes for local and international students from other countries. Due to numerous cooperation agreements with foreign universities and organizations, members of academic staff and students can participate in exchange programs and internships abroad to get new theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Accommodation and Housing
University provides renovated and well-furnished Student Dormitories near the main studying building. There are two well-maintained student dormitories, which are home to about 700 international students of different study levels. Students live in shared rooms between 2-3 people and have permanent access to shared bathrooms. Each student dormitory has showers, kitchens, laundry rooms, storage rooms, self–training rooms, and student recreation. There is a local computer network with Internet access in student dormitories and guest rooms for parents or friends who come to visit students.
The rooms are equipped with air-conditioning and a centralized heating system. The location of the hostels is very near to the city’s center. The local food markets and other amenities are easily accessible to the students.
