General Information
The Volga State University of Technology is the first technical, and one of the first institutions of higher education in the republic of Mari El. University is one of the leading science centers of the Volga region that trains specialists in various areas, including economy, humanities, technical sciences, etc. University is the best place to study in Russia and get a higher degree in Russia.
Today about 10,000 local and international students study in the PSTU in studying programs of higher education and secondary vocational education. It provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develops advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction. Students and teaching staff at University are involved in a variety of research activities and grant programs in Russian universities and universities abroad.
The main structure of the university includes 3 study institutes, 5 study faculties, 2 educational centers, the Higher College Polytechnic, the Yoshkar-Ola Agrarian College, and two branches in the cities of Volzhsk (the Republic of Mari El) and Mariinsky Posad (the Republic of Chuvashia). University also provides additional education. The university has its own institute of additional vocational education, the linguistic center ORBIS, preparatory courses, a driving school, and a labor protection center.

Accommodation and Housing
University dormitories are located in areas with highly developed urban and social infrastructure (cafes, shopping malls, hospitals, movie theaters, barbershops, etc.). All dormitories are under video surveillance 24/7. To provide comfortable living conditions, all the dormitories have TV rooms, gyms, recreation rooms, assembly halls, libraries, and laundries with automatic washing machines, ironing, and drying accessories.
The dormitories are annually renovated. All rooms and common areas are fully furnished. Students live in double or triple rooms, all the student residents are provided with bedding. The dormitories have shared kitchens and bathrooms on every floor.
