General Information
Vyatka State University of Humanities is the oldest and the largest higher educational establishment in Kirov Region. In 2014 it will celebrate its 100th anniversary. The history of the University is evidence of the profound educational tradition and scientific tradition, constant growth, and encompassing new study branches of learning and research. University is the best place to study humanities in Russia and study pedagogy in Russia.
Nowadays the University held the role of a forefront center of learning activity, teaching activities, and research activities in the Volga-Vyatka Area. Its academics and students follow the long-standing traditions of the highest academic standards and democratic ideals. VSHU graduates take top positions in state and local governing bodies, and in the management of domestic and international companies.
At present Vyatka State University of Humanities offers a higher degree in almost all study branches of modern science and humanity science. Its undergraduates may choose one of the 56 study qualifications in its 16 study faculties, while in post-graduate courses local and international students may specialize in 12 study branches of science and humanity science and 37 different areas. The total number of students exceeds more than 12,000.
University provides studying of Bachelor’s programs, Master’s programs, and Postgraduate programs for Russian students and develops advanced Master’s programs with English medium of instruction. Students and teaching staff at University are involved in a variety of research activities and grant programs in Russian universities and universities abroad.

Accommodation and Housing
Students’ hostels have single rooms and double rooms which are fully equipped for life and the study process. Canteens offer a variety of dishes at reasonable prices. There are a food market and grocery stores nearby for those who prefer to cook themselves. Students’ cafes, bars, and city parks are popular places for entertainment and outdoor recreation.
Every hostel resident can use every common room in the building, including the library, gym, canteen, and resting rooms. All rooms are well-furnished and ready to use at every time and day. Accommodations are supplied with refrigerators, shared kitchens, reading rooms, studying rooms, a hostel library, and separate bathrooms and toilets. Hostels are under 24/7 CCTV surveillance, so every student can feel safe and comfortable.
