Yugra State University
General Information
The Yugra State University is a public university in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. The university was founded in 2001 by the initiative of the Government of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug on the basis of branches of educational institutions that existed in Khanty-Mansiysk: the Tyumen State Agricultural Academy, the Nizhnevartovsk State Pedagogical Institute, and the Siberian State Automobile and Highway Academy.
The University’s main aim is to spread quality Russian education worldwide and allow students to get a higher degree in Russia. University has branch campuses in Kirov and Sharya. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, its study curriculums are approved by Russian state bodies.
All educational units of the academy such as educational institutions, and study departments are headed by teachers with academic degrees and titles. Educational activities in the academy are carried out in the squares, enshrined in the right of operational management of the orders of the Territorial Office of the Federal Agency for the Management of Federal Property in Russian Federation.
University is the best place to study in Russia for international students. All students can take part in international exchange programs and internships abroad. University provides full-time studying and part-time studying in undergraduate courses in Russia, postgraduate courses in Russia, and doctoral studies in Russia.
Study Programs
The YUSU provides education of different qualification levels:
- secondary vocational education,
- higher professional education (Bachelor’s degree and master’s degree),
- post-graduate studies in a number of scientific areas.
The education process is organized into four departments:
- Institute of Humanities (Northern studies),
- Institute of Digital Economy,
- Institute of Oil and Gas,
- Institute of Law.
Accommodation and Housing
University welcomes international students and is generally able to provide accommodation for all new international students without dependents. Students reside in University in dormitory rooms. The dormitories are situated on the University Campus. The four-room apartments are up-to-date facilities and offer the opportunity to integrate into the University and interact closely with Russian students. International students live in separate apartments which consist of four rooms. One room is intended for two-three persons.
The hostel provides all needed facilities for students such as modern furniture, changed bedding, TV, free Wi-Fi, reading rooms, studying rooms, a hostel library, a common kitchen, and separate bathrooms and toilets. Hostels are under 24/7 CCTV surveillance, so every student can feel safe and comfortable. Wi-Fi connectivity is accessible 24/7 to make studying and resting more useful.
